The GTA Rally project was originally concived by me a few days ago.  Is well as maintaning this page, I also own the San Andreas Car Impound.  Anyway, I was sent a cool Rally car, the Subaru Impreza '95 by one of the people now on the team, Matthew Tayolr.  It was a damn good car, but I didn't really think any more of it.  A few days later, I was sent a set of Specs by another member of the team, Chrissyb.  When put into the game, the Impreza went from good to orgasmic!
The new handling revolutionised GTA - the Impreza now slid around corners, had twitchy controls and kept losing its rear end - just like a real rally car - this gave me an awesome idea ...
Me and my friend, Andew, ofen play linkup games of GTA over my Null-modem cable and it is great fun.  We only play the deathmatch option as cannonball is a bit boring - but wait, what if instead of a normal, boring city race, you had an amazing sprint around inner cities, country side and stunt tracks, all in rally cars.  Racing head to head against each other, pushing these dangerous machines to the limit, one slight nudge resulting in the car getting into an uncontrollable spin - ACE idea!
All that is really left now is to put that idea into motion - thus was born GTA Rally - the future of GTA Multiplayer gaming.
I put a small request out from the San Andreas Car Impound, asking for people to send me rally cars - they did and I recieved a few more cars.  I also got into contact with Azz - he is now working on the team and has supplied me with some great cars.
Now all that is left is to gather the few remaining cars and start work on the GTA Rally Maps.  GTA Rally is hopefully going to be the most intentse multiplayer conquest in the history of GTA.  But as with many things, only time will tell.

The Basics of GTA Rally:
  • Around 6 - 10 high performance Rally cars, each with slightly different characteristics.
  • 2-4 New maps each with three races around them and all set in different venues
  • Amazing stunts and jumps in the tracks to premote all out racing.
Because of the way GTA Rally works, there will be no other cars present on the tracks and there will also be a lack of police (although this hasn't fully been decided upon yet.)
There will be spectators and yes - you can run them over for "Extra Style" points. :)

New information on the Distribution Aspects of GTA Rally:
Right then, me and Chrissyb have been working out how GTA Rally can be moved from this web site to your PC.  The most simple form would be to include all three style files (with the new cars and textures already added) but this isn't practicle, would you like to download 8 megs?  There will be an option to do this for those of you who want it easy but most of you will select the quicker option:
The other way will involve installing it manually (well not totally).  The install program would install the Mission.ini, English.fxt, and run the binpatch that edits the stats, texture tiles and other small things with the style files.  Then, the user would have to install the BMPs manually - but it would be fairly easy to do and if you can install a car from the SA Car Impound then you will be able to do this.
